MATCH PREVIEW

Port Vale go head to head with Grimsby in round twelve of the English League two both sides hungry for glory in an event that will go down at the Vale Park.

It will be home advantage for Port Vale and their manager Chris Morgan will hope the twelfth man will help his struggling side to dismiss their visitors.

The hosts would be targeting to bounce back from their 2-0 away loss to Stevenage in their latest fixture coming into the match with a convincing home win.

The Staffordshire based side currently lie third bottom of the league two tie on five points with bottom side Forest Green but separated by goal difference and for sure any slip in match day twelve could see them drop to rock bottom of the table.

Grimsby Town travel to face Port Vale hoping to pile more misery on them and deny them the pleasure of nailing a single point as they target to climb up the league.

The visitors will be keen to get back to winning ways after being held to a frustrating 0-0 home draw by Lincoln City in their latest outing.

The away team currently lie fifteenth in the league standings with fourteen points from eleven matches played tie on points with thirteen played Cheltenham Town and a win in this could see them climb the table depending on other results.

Port Vale are currently in super mediocre form heading into the clash having failed to register a single win in their last five matches suffering three losses and registered two draws coming into the clash anything less than a win will be disastrous for the hosts.

The visitors on the other hand have registered mixed results in their last five matches managing two victories, two draws and suffered one loss but they will keen to get back winning ways after a three winless run.

English man Dan Turner will keen to get his name on the scoresheet to help the beleaguered hosts to get back to winning ways.

Jonathan Hooper will be the man to watch for the away side in their bid to sneak away with the maximum points from Vale Park.

The hosts will be without centre back Gavin Gunning due to suspension for the upcoming clash.

Grimsby will have the luxury to enjoy a fully fit squad for they don’t have any fresh injuries or ban concern.

Both sides have two of last have matches between the two sides while the other match has ended in a draw.
