Girona lock horns with Villareal in match day eight of the Spanish la liga both sides hungry for glory.

Girona would be targeting to bag the three vital points in front of their home supporters and end their five match winless run.

The hosts would be keen to build on their commendable 3-3 draw away to Celta Vigo in their last match with a home win.

The newly promoted side have struggled for form in their last four matches failing to nail a single win registering two draws and two defeats something they will be keen to overturn when they face Villareal.

Girona currently lie sixteenth with six points from seven matches and win this could propel them to eleventh of the table depending on other results.

Villareal travel to face Girona hoping to bag a routine victory over the la liga new comers.

The yellow submarines are in high spirits coming into the match after dismissing Eibar 3-0 at home in their last la liga outing and a win in this could be a big stage in their quest for the elusive la liga title.

The visitors have been far from convincing off late managing despite their latest win managing only two wins, registered two draws and suffered one defeat in their last five matches.

The away side currently lie ninth in the Spanish top division with ten points from seven matches and a win in this could see them climb to the top six of the chart depending on other results.

New signing Kenyan lethal forward Michael Olunga would be the man tasked to find the goals upfront by the hosts.

Congolese marksman Cedric Bakambu would be out to add on his impressive goal tally this season to make sure the visitors have last laugh.

The hosts would be without Pedro Alcala, Marc Muniesa and  David Timor due to injury while the hosts will miss the services of Andres Fernandez, Sergio Asenjo, Bruno Soriano, Adrian Marin and Nicola Sansone due to injury and suspension.

The two sides have only met twice each side claiming a win a piece.
